Is a Wedding Photo Booth Worth It? 9 Reasons Couples Say Yes

In short: For most couples, yes. A wedding photo booth keeps guests of every age entertained during the evening, gives everyone an instant keepsake, and leaves you with a guest book full of photos and messages – typically for £450–£600. Our ultimate wedding package is £499.

After more than 20 years of providing photo booths at weddings across Essex, Kent, Suffolk and London, we have heard the same feedback again and again. Here is why couples think it is money well spent – and when it might not be right for you.

1. It fills the gap in the evening

Between the meal, the speeches and the first dance there are often long stretches where guests are waiting around. A photo booth gives them something fun to do – and it works just as well for guests who don’t dance.

2. Every age joins in

Grandparents in giant sunglasses are a guaranteed highlight. “The pictures of my grandparents dressed up were hilarious,” said Andrew and Emma after their wedding – and Loretta and Trevor told us their booth at Lympne Castle “was loved by children and adults alike”.

3. You get a guest book you will actually look at

With double prints, one copy goes home with the guest and the other goes straight into your guest book with a handwritten message. By the end of the night you have a funny, personal album of everyone who came.

4. Instant photos while you wait for the professional ones

Your photographer’s pictures can take weeks. Booth photos are ready the same night and go into an online gallery straight afterwards – something couples tell us they really appreciate.

5. Guests take home a personalised favour

Prints can carry your names, date and wedding colours, so they double as wedding favours – and keyrings and fridge magnets make lovely extras.

6. Video messages

Guests can record video messages for you – from a quick congratulations to a full sing-along – all saved for you to watch later.

7. It suits almost any venue

Barns, marquees, hotels and castles all work. Our booths run from one standard socket; the Photo Booth Pod needs only 3ft × 4ft, and the Super Booth is wheelchair accessible.

8. Someone else looks after it

A uniformed attendant stays with the booth all night, helps guests, keeps the props tidy and makes sure your guest book is complete before handing it over.

9. It is good value per guest

For a 100-guest evening, a £499 package works out at around £5 per guest – including unlimited prints, props and a guest book.

When a photo booth might not be worth it

  • Very small weddings (under about 30 guests) where everyone is seated for most of the day.
  • Venues with no indoor or covered space and no power.
  • If your budget is tight and you would rather put the money towards your photographer.
